A bit about my portrait drawings.

For the longest time (like my entire life) I've always wanted to be able to draw faces, I find faces and especially eyes fascinating to draw and look at.
I enjoy trying to capture a likeness of a person and their personality so basically spend loads of my free time sketching people.
I don't work from life (never did quite get the hang of that) I prefer to work from reference photos either ones I've taken myself or ones I've found on good old google.

Here's an example of some of my latest pieces.

I hope to exhibit my work again later in the year once I've turned some of my portraits into large scale paintings.

The picture above shows one of my recently completed pieces and the start of the one I'm currently working on.

I shall post some more about my artwork soon.

Well Well Well!!!

Well well well look who's back here on blogger.

After heartlessly abandoning my blogger for goodness knows how long I decided I'd better start writing some blog posts again.

What have I been up to?

Well I've been really focusing on my youtube channel and my portrait drawing, so with these and work I've been really busy.

I hope to keep up with regular posts on here.

I won't be able to just do make up reviews though as frankly I don't have enough money to buy enough products to keep this blog going, so I'm going to write about a mixture of things on here.

I'm going to write in this blog about:

Drawing
Art
Make up
Vlog's
Jewellry

And anything else I think of.

I hope you'll like what's coming up.

Wow haven't been on here in aaaaages!

Over the last few months I've been concentrating on my artwork and YouTube videos.

For this blog I'm now going to pretty much abandon the makeup side of things except the odd fx makeup pics. This blog is going to now be more about my artwork mainly portraiture and some abstract pieces/sketches.

I really hope you enjoy seeing behind the scenes stuff from my videos and my artwork.

So bye bye makeup reviews Hello art!

Seventeen Oh So Spring Cheek Stamp - Coral

I've used this blush a few times over the last week and thought I'd write a review.

In the pot you get a sponge applicator and a 3.2g pan of blusher. The one I have is the coral one and pink blushes look weird on me.

The blush is easy to apply, but is very very pigmented so it's easy to apply too much. It's best to apply this lightly and blend it out, then apply a little more if you prefer a stronger blush look.

This shows up really well on my pale skin but once blended out it looks like this.

I prefer a more subtle blush look as with my pale skin I look like a clown otherwise. For me this took a little practice to apply just the right amount, but once I'd used it a couple of times I got the knack of applying just enough to add a little colour without being over the top.

For £4.99 this is a nice little cheap addition to my make up collection and as it's quite pigmented it should last me a long time too!

This is limited edition so not sure how long it will be available for.

How I got purple streaks in my hair :-)

This was the colour of my hair before. I was a bit bored with it and fancied a change, so I decided to try purple streaks in my hair.

I bleached a few highlights into my hair using this pre lightener (realised after I could have left this step out as my hair is light enough for the dye to take anyway).

The dye I used was this one. Directions semi-permanent dye in the colour plum.

As you can see from the following pic it is an absolutely gorgeous shade of purple.

I also decided to add purple to the bottom layer of my hair (didn't bother with bleach as my hairs a lot lighter than the purple dye).

As you can see from the photo I wrapped the sections of my hair in cling film once I'd applied the dye. I then left the dye in my hair for 30 minutes (it says 15-20 on the tub but I wanted the purple to be really dark).

After I rinsed my hair (and successfully turned my bathroom purple) my hair looked like this.

I'm really happy with the results.

Not the best photos (my camera has a problem with purple).

Here's a photo that shows the underneath layer of purple a bit.

My Conch piercing

Here's a picture of my conch piercing, which I've had for just over a month now.

Unlike my tragus this has been a relatively happy piercing (apart from when I caught it the once).

This piercing hurt the most to get done (about a 7 out of 10), but it only took a couple of seconds to do, so the pain didn't last that long.

The first week was the most uncomfortable, it didn't hurt all the time it just hurt to clean it and I couldn't sleep on it and my ear felt tight (weird I know but that's how I can best describe the feeling).
The first couple of nights it bled a tiny bit (just looked a bit scabby in the morning).

After that it slowly hurt less and less and by the end of the second week I could sleep on it and it was only tender when I touched it to clean it.

Now I've had the piercing for just over a month, I doesn't hurt to sleep on or to clean. I did bump it recently which upset it a little bit, but it calmed back down after some extra tlc.

Again if you are thinking about getting this piercing, bear in mind it can take 6 to 12 months to heal and some people have had as many problems with it as I did with my tragus. Again it's a piercing that takes a lot of patience and care as it's a cartilage piercing.

My grumpy tragus :-(

Here's a photo of my tragus piercing.

This is without a doubt the grumpiest piercing I've ever had. It has taken me four months of aching, weeping, cleaning and soreness to finally get this piercing to settle down.

Found out in the end that my body doesn't like surgical steel or titanium in new piercings.

I was on the verge of taking the piercing out for good when I thought I'd try my usual silver jewellery instead.
Within 24 hours my tragus was half the size it is in the photo and it had stopped hurting. Within a week it stopped crusting, returned to normal size and it is now a happy comfortable piercing.

It definitely helped my tragus when I reduced the gauge of the jewellery and the material.

I now wear small silver nose studs in my tragus, here's a pic.

The stud I'm wearing in this photo is one of those L shaped nose studs and is very comfy. I'm also wearing my favourite 6mm swallow plugs (I can wear surgical steel in my healed piercings).

I can also now wear in ear headphones again! :-)

So glad I didn't give up on my tragus piercing without trying one last thing. I think it is such a pretty piercing but it is one to consider carefully before getting.

Typically cartilage piercings can take 6 months to a year to heal and they take a lot of looking after and even then they can act up like mine did. Luckily it never got infected, but I always keep my piercings super clean, I was just unlucky enough to react to the metal used (not the piercers fault, titanium is a metal that has one of the lowest rates of allergic reactions in piercings).

Disclaimer:

This is just what helped MY piercing, if you have any problems with a piercing speak to the professional piercer who did the piercing. If in any doubt consult your GP.

Do goldfish like peas? And erm Hello :-)

Well as it turns out, yes goldfish do love peas :-) here's a video of my fish scoffing their favourite treat.

Just realised how long it's actually been since I last posted on here!!!

Sorry it's been so long, to be honest I'd kind of run out of things to blog about for a while. However I now have a few products to review and will be writing posts about them today. I also have a few ideas about other things I can write about, so I hope to get back into all this blogging business.

I shall aim to post about once a week (hopefully more). If you have any topics you'd like me to blog about then let me know.
